Who the f**k is Bek

Great question.

Hopefully one day ill have a succinct answer for you.

In the mean time here’s a rambling answer.

Right, here we go. I take photos of brands. Then I can't help myself, and I start building them and marketing them and making content for them too. I've tried to just pick one thing. It never sticks.

I've been in front of the camera and behind it. I've built a brand and sold one. I've also told a lot of people the truth about their logo, which most of them did ask for.

There's a horse, a border collie who supervises everything I do, an addiction to coffee, wine and all the basic millennial girl tropes.

So here's the six things that make up most of me. They overlap. Obviously. They’re all in third person cause why not.

Bek is a Photographer.

That is the short version, and she is sticking to it.

She shoots brands. The spaces, the products, the food, the faces, the events.

All the things a business needs photos of and keeps putting off because it feels like a whole production.

You look better than your photos are telling people.

Her rule is simple. Photos have to earn their keep.

On a grid, a website, a menu, a Google profile, a proposal.

Pretty is nice. Useful is better.

Bek is a Marketer.

Bookings, not just likes

Bek does brand and partnership marketing for businesses that need to be seen, not just posted.

She has run marketing for a nursing education brand, a bakery, salons and an agency, and she learned early that likes are lovely and bookings are better.

Content, partnerships, social, campaigns, launches. If the work needs to sell something rather than look busy, that is her half of the job.

Bek is a Brand Builder.

She built one, grew it, sold it

Bek built a brand, grew it and sold it, which is the quickest way to learn that logos do not save businesses and clarity does.

Now she builds the whole thing for other people: identity, voice, logo, website, the way it looks and the way it sounds.

She will tell you the truth about your logo. That is the service. It just tends to arrive with better questions than you were expecting.

PS. She is always building new businesses, meet her new baby Sit Stay Pilates, Co-foundered with Dallas Jays.

Bek is a Model.

In front of the lens before she was behind it

Bek has spent time in front of the camera, not just behind it.

That is where she learned what it feels like to be the person who does not know where to put their hands, which is why she will never leave a client standing awkwardly on a mark.

Modelling taught her how light sits on a face, how to take direction, and how to hold a shot until the moment is actually there.

It is also why she can get a real laugh out of a nervous client within five minutes.

Bek is a Content Queen.

The title is totally self proclaimed. Don’t question it.

If it needs a reel, a caption, a launch or a month of content that does not look like a chore, this is the person.

Bek creates content for her own brands and for everyone else's: reels, UGC, product shoots, campaign content, the launch video and the follow up.

She is not precious about trends, she is not above a good dog video, and she knows content has one job.

Make someone stop, feel something, then take the next step.

Most days you’ll find her spamming her clients with ideas, sometimes weird and wonderful, and at night you’ll find her annoying her partner with repeating audio as edits the 100th reel for the day.
